John joined Propylon in 2005 and served as Chief Operations Officer for a number of years before his appointment as CEO. John has successfully led product and project development to establish Propylon as a global market leader. John is a director of the company and sits on the board. Before joining Propylon, John worked in the telecoms industry delivering global revenue generation and billing platforms across a number of telecoms operators in the US and Europe. He holds an honors degree in business information technology from Trinity College Dublin.

Dan joined Propylon in 2015 as COO bringing over 20 years’ experience in technical, operational, sales and commercial management. He has a strong international experience in a global, hi-tech environment with a track record in successfully establishing, scaling and internationalizing business. In the 10 years prior to joining Propylon as COO, Dan was responsible for delivering regulatory compliance software for Fenergo and Norkom in a number of client-focused roles. Dan holds an honors business degree from Trinity College Dublin and a masters in computer science from Queens University Belfast.

Dan Murphy

Sean is co-founder and CIO of Propylon. He has over 30 years' experience in the IT industry, mostly in the legal and regulatory publishing/compliance space. With a first-class honors degree in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin, Sean served as an invited expert to the W3C special interest group that created the XML standard in 1996. He is the author of three books on markup languages published by Prentice Hall in the Dr Charles F. Goldfarb series on open information management. Sean consults with public and private clients on strategy, innovation and enterprise architecture.

Jason has worked with Propylon since its incorporation in 1999. He came onboard full-time in 2019 as Chief Financial Officer. Jason is a qualified certified chartered accountant and fellowship member of the ACCA with over 20 years of experience in practice prior to joining Propylon. In a previous role, he served the needs of SME clients with a particular emphasis on Irish tech and IT start-up companies. Jason advises on all business aspects including finance, regulatory, tax and company secretarial compliance.

Greg joined Propylon in 2013 and served as Head of Technology before his appointment as Chief Technology Officer in 2021. Greg has led the development of major client projects and products across the legislative and regulatory domains, driving the implementation of Propylon’s technology strategy. With a background in software architecture and development, he worked as a software engineer across several business domains in the years before joining Propylon.

Sinéad joined Propylon in 2016 as a Senior Project Manager, bringing over 15 years' experience of technical project delivery in the healthcare and financial services sectors. Since joining Propylon, Sinéad has led the successful delivery of enterprise projects for our legislative and regulatory clients. Sinéad was appointed as Head of Enterprise Services Group in 2018. She holds an honors degree in Information Systems from Trinity College Dublin.

Nici is Head of Product Development and has the led multiple teams in a variety of projects in the organization. Originally joining Propylon as Business Analyst in 2005, Nici has been heavily involved in the successful delivery of multiple projects across both legislative and regulatory domains. She holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Limerick and an MBA from UCD Smurfit business school.

Marie-Claire joined Propylon in 2019 as Head of Human Resources. She has over a decade of HR experience, with deep knowledge of talent acquisition best practice, learning and development, and HR project management across multiple industries. Marie-Claire holds an honors English Literature degree from Trinity College Dublin, a masters in Shakespeare Studies from King’s College London, a CIPD Award in Employment Law and Employee Relations from National College of Ireland, as well as various professional qualifications related to psychometric assessments.

Hugo is Head of Client Services and has led a variety of project and services teams within Propylon. Having joined Propylon in 2015, Hugo previously spent 10 years as a private contractor in project management. Hugo holds a bachelor of commerce and a master's in Information Systems Management, both from NUI Galway.

Board members

Paul McKeon is an experienced entrepreneur, and founder and Chairman of Propylon. Paul qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989 and worked in a number of roles in Corporate Finance before becoming CEO of Propylon in 2000. Paul was appointed Chairman of Propylon in 2012. Paul is also currently Chairman of WhatClinic and was previously a Director of Swrve, AMCS Group and Newbay Software Limited. Paul is a founder and Director of Mianach Venture Capital. He is also involved in a number of businesses in the healthcare sector in both an executive and non-executive capacity.

Tom joined Propylon as a board director in January 2018 to support our growth and strategy direction. Tom was the co-founder and CEO of Granicus for 16 years; prior to this, he was a member of the premier Internet development group, Anderson Consulting (now Accenture), and performed Internet strategy and development work for various companies including, E-Trade and the United States Post Office. He is also a board member of Ascendify and a certified teacher for the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMCC), having previously served as member of the MCEF Board of Directors, which supports scholarships and education for municipal clerks.
